Welcome To My Blog!

Hey, I’m Octavia Graham a newly turned travel blogger just trying to live her dreams of traveling the world!

My favorite continent is by far Asia and that is why I have dedicated an entire section of my blog to travel Asia. I also give some vital budget and travel tips to help new and old travelers to navigate this world!

Costa Rica is one of the best places in the world, which is very rich in natural resources. That is why, like me, it is one of many traveler’s favorite destinations. It is known for its almost paradise natural attractions and always the first choice of many surfers, backpackers, and luxury travelers. However, it is not as affordable as you may be expecting, especially during its peak season.

The capital city of Costa Rica is San Jose, where you will find the best historical & cultural museums and the center of its historical treasure.

There lie the breath-taking beaches on the Pacific coast, where small towns are offering the best places for surfers and sunny beach lovers. Also, a big part of the country is forests and mountains where you can go for adventures. You can embrace nature and admire the volcanoes and waterfalls and wildlife safaris touring. There are many more adventures on the Caribbean coast.

Costa Rica is a great spot for fishing, with a great variety of species, such as marlins, sailfish, wahoo, mahimahi, snappers, and many more. In the Pacific Ocean, you can enjoy deep-sea fishing with Marina Pez Vela fishing charters (or wherever you want). So, whether you’re a professional angler or just a fishing enthusiast, Costa Rica will definitely have something for you.

Here are my top 3 favorite places in Costa Rica that I recommend for everyone:

  1. The Arenal Volcano

The Arenal Volcano National Park is one of the main attractions, situated in the Cordillera de Tilarán, a mountainous area offering the best green views in Costa Rica. There you will enjoy the view of the famous Arenal Volcano, a beautiful cone-shaped mountain about 1,633 meters high, which is covered with ashes and lava dough due to its several eruptions.

Arenal Volcano was said to be dormant for many years until its deadly eruption in July 1968, which took a lot of people’s lives and wiped off nearby villages. By then, the volcano remains active, where you can see some lava glow from the crater.

The national park also offers some biodiversity attractions, like the reptiles, amphibians, birds, and other Costa Rican animals representing the areas. The area also has amazing views of Arenal lake. They also have several adventures that you would like to go for like hiking, and adventure trails to waterfalls and lava flow areas.

  1. The Monteverde and Cloud Forests

In the event that you are tingling to drench yourself in nature and see rare plants and untamed life without wandering off too far outside the safe trail, this is certainly the spot to come.

Monteverde and the cloud forests are some of the best ecotourism places in Costa Rica, which offers many exciting adventures. Moreover, it is one of the main tourist spots in the region, located in the northwest of San Juan.

The place is a sustained wildlife habitat because of the cloud covering the forest areas. The Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve and Santa Elena Cloud Forest Reserve are protected habitats for various untamed animals. It is the best place for bird watching, and you can see many kinds of monkeys and kinds of frogs which I’ve never imagined exists, and chances to see jaguars and pumas.

You may also go for the canopy tours, which can be in ziplines or cable cars. To see the amazing forest views.

  1. The Manuel Antonio National Park

Manuel Antonio National Park is the most visited park in Costa Rica. It is one of the most convenient and accessible places that doesn’t need to take much of your time. I only spend a half-day enjoying the place, and it’s worth it.

There are many things you can explore in the park on your own. However, unlike the far areas tourist destinations that require tour guides, you won’t necessarily need it in the Manuel Antonio National Park.

One of the park’s main attractions is the oceanfront beaches of the pacific coast, which are just a walking distance from the central station. In addition, there are amazing restaurants and shops along the hillsides where you can enjoy, and some of them are open at night.

Aside from the white sand beaches and coral reefs, the Park is also known for its immense diversity of plants and wildlife. We have spotted many kinds of birds, endangered Capuchin monkeys, and sloths. The whole area covers about 680 hectares from the coast up until the mountains.

So, I would say that, if you are a pure nature lover, Costa Rica is the best travel destination for you. I highly recommend those places for everyone who would like to enjoy the pure nature wonders of the world.
